What really causes the hair to fall?

It is a million answers question. Anything might be the reason for the hair fall according to your body types (Vada, Pitta, Kapha).

The hair falls due to climatic conditions, usage of new hair care products, headache balms, medications, stress levels, weight gain/loss’s symptom, a lifestyle change or even when you fast. So it is not only because of your shampoo/oil/conditioner.

How does a hair strand grow and what does it need?

Human hair requires certain vitamins and macro nutrients to grow. Our hair has a cycle from its growth to fall-off.

Hair grows out of little pockets in your skin, called follicles.

At the bottom of the follicle, hair begins to grow (Anagen phase). Actually the root is made up of proteins. Blood flow to the scalp feeds the root and make the hair grow. When it grows, it releases oil to the scalp (Catagen phase). That’s why we need to wash our hair. How much hair fall required to become bald? Weirdo !!

We are born with 5 million active hair follicles. Fats and proteins obtained from Mother’s milk are more than enough to grow up the hair for children.

When ageing starts, our hair strand spontaneously reaches telogen phase. Since, 75% chances are there for a new hair strand growth in the same follicle. But the follicle should not be passive.

By hereditary, the follicle may get passive and there are million reasons why it gets passive. So, after an illness recovery, surgery, chronic stress/depression, or any kind of laser treatments, start consuming enough fats and proteins.

If you starve yourself in the name of unsupervised or dry fasting, the first thing which get shed is your hair and not your pounds.

What our body actually conveys us through hair fall?

Our body tries many ways to convey if any kind of imbalances occurred. One way is hair-fall. If your body gets a shock at an instance, it expresses in such a way by making a hair strand falls off. (the first thing body does to realize a shock)

The shock may be anything. It may be a chronic stress, depression, illness, changing behavior like getting angry or sad for almost anything. Even you can observe hair fall after surgeries. So, again the same mantra, ‘Listen to your soul and body’.

We always fail to observe symptoms. But, our system shows up everything beforehand. One good example is, if you are getting a stroke, your body would have conveyed you before a month with an accurate symptom (sometimes, chronic blurred vision, frequent vertigo or marginal attacks).

So, hair fall conveys a lot. Even about deficiencies. So watch out carefully.

What are the lifestyle changes required to prevent hair from falling?

If you try changing your lifestyle, hair may grow as you wish. Little food additions/deletions may help. Move your ass too. And sleep is the best doctor ever.

Food tweaks

Biotin

Your body needs keratin from the compound Biotin.

Biotin is a water soluble vitamin. Your body doesn’t store it. You need in adequate amount.

Egg yolks, legumes, Almonds, mushrooms, Broccoli, bananas and avacadoes are rich in biotin. Add any one these in your daily food. See the difference then.

Eating bananas will improve your mood also

Zinc

We don’t normally eat foods with awareness. We should know what we eat.

Zinc helps in hair tissue growth and repair.

Spinach, pumpkin seeds, lentils, beef has high amount of zinc. Most of the hair loss problems are related to zinc deficiency.

Folate

Folic acid is found in tissues of skin, hairs, nails. When this is defiencent, your hair will fall off.

Vitamin A (Beta carotene)

Vitamin A helps to hydrate your hair. Vitamin-A is a fat soluble one. So if we need to take this, we must have a fat medium over it.

It is a group of retinal, pro-vitamin A (veggies like carrot), retinol (Meat) compounds. It helps in vision, immune system maintenance and growth of hair. It provides lusture to the hair.

Vitamin D3

Hydrate yourself as per your thirst. Eat fiber rich foods. Soluble and insoluble fibres are must for happy 💩.

No need to go to gym to workout for hair growth. Don’t waste your money.

Play with your kids. Physical workout as well as happy mind will be the outcome.

Still, start doing jumping jacks, climbing stairs, strength training and anything which makes you sweat, if you are young and your body weight permits. Dopamines (happy hormones) will be released. Hair may grow faster than we think.

At the same time, after doing any physical workouts, try washing your hair, if it’s wet, only if you can.

Maintaining stress levels

Stress is the culprit. Nobody tells you. More Cortisol secretion leads to high blood pressure. Obviously no happy mood. Eventually ended up with poor blood circulation.

Also, it is proven that, happy people is very physically active beings. If we are surrounded with toxic people, it is more dangerous than harsh chemicals that we put on our hair in the name of shampoos.

Remove negativity from your life.

If life is throwing lemons at you, juice them and drink. Don’t throw it back. Being happy is our first and foremost life purpose.

If you are provoked by someone, your body will enter fight/flight/freeze to response mode. Apparently stress hormones are released. Your reproductive hormones will be imbalanced. Hormone imbalance leads to hair fall definitely.

Don’t worry about hair fall first. Worrying updates negative vibes to your subconscious memory records. Eat nutritiously and be in a happy mindset as far as possible.

Do yoga postures which circulates blood to your head. Once ageing starts, we cannot assure healthy hair follicles on your scalp.

Make an affirmation that you are beautiful/handsome with the God given hair structure. Be with gratitude. Hair will definitely grow at its own pace.
